ABOUT US

Ready for the Saw Mill

We are Will and Charlotte Miller and Timber Millers is our family run mobile sawmill.

After inheriting the mill from his father Roger, Will decided that he couldn't just watch it go to waste. So whilst working as a mechanical design engineer he started by spending one day a week milling and honing his skills. From there the client list has grown to the point where we made the decision to make this our full time business.  Not an easy decision with three young children!  Will has been running the mill since 2009, and full time since 2015.

We are proud of the provenance of all of our timber that we use and sell; all sourced here in Dorset and the surrounding counties.

For a little more background on us, our local magazine wrote a lovely piece featuring Timber Millers that you can see here; Sherborne Times

We are based in beautiful Dorset, surrounded by our neighbouring counties of Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon. This is where the main bulk of our wood stock comes from. Will travels within these counties to local estates, National Trust properties, farms and gardens with our sawmill, not a bad office! With all this rolling countryside we can make the most of having a mobile sawmill, getting to those harder to reach trees, and milling to the customers specification.

Wood Stock

We have a wide variety of stock which is continually changing so why not give us a call and we can give you an up to date stock list. We have a mixture of green, air-dried, and kiln dried timber; all British, locally grown and either FSC certified or responsibly sourced.

We also have a stock of seasoned logs available in hard and softwoods, in full and half loads; for local delivery only, which is included in the price.

From commissions of garden sheds, curvy benches, and pergola’s, to our own homeware range including chopping boards, serving platters and coat racks.  We can make most things to any size and are always open to commissions of bespoke pieces. We like a challenge!
